Miguel Ángel Torres Ferreras

On December 7, 2024, the seventeenth edition of the 2024 National Crafts Awards was held in the Ministry of Industry and Tourism’s auditorium. The event brought together artisan finalists from all over the country in recognition of relevant actors of Spanish national crafts who, with their work, make the sector a driver of economy, employment, and innovation, and give added value to the prestige of Spain. The individuals and entities received their awards from the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, the Secretary of State for Industry, Rebeca Torró, the Director General of the School of Industrial Organisation (EOI), José Bayón; the Secretary General of the EOI, Mónica Bando, and the Financial Director of EOI, Carmen Ruiz.

For Jordi Hereu, the artisan sector in Spain is internationally renowned. It has increased its competitiveness through innovation, Information and Communication Technology, and a more commercial-oriented approach. In addition, the minister highlighted the close collaboration between the Autonomous Communities and the alliance between the public and private sectors as a driving force for promoting artisanship in Spain.

There are five categories of awards: National Award, Product Award, Entrepreneurship Award, Promociona Award for Private Entities, and Promociona Award for Public Entities.
