2024 Made in Spain Holiday Gift Guide

This year my Made in Spain Holiday Gift Guide showcases ceramic jugs. There is no reason for this selection other than when I visited Spain this year, I spotted a striking striped ceramic jug in Hijo de Epigmenio. This gift store sells artisanal ceramic, glass, textiles, and other items from across Spain. I have featured this shop in numerous articles on this website, but it was my first visit in five years. The owner, Juan Manuel Gil, was as warm as ever. Visit Two Weeks in Spain to read about my visit to this and other places during my vacation.

The aesthetics of the jugs I selected range from traditional Spanish to sleek and contemporary.

Hijo de Epigmenio

These colorful jugs are traditional handmade ceramics from Níjar in Almería. Sold at his shop, Juan is a fan. “For me, they are some of the most striking and authentic ceramics made in Spain. They are imperfect pieces. That is their beauty. “

The jugs in the images are made by Rafael Granados. He comes from a family in Nijar that has been making ceramics for several generations.
